Summary

Laughter and sparks set the stage for a fun romance from New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello about a farmer who switches places with his business-savvy twin brother and falls in love with the daughter of his brother’s biggest client。

I just found out I have an identical twin。 I’d love the idea if he wasn’t an arrogant, overconfident businessman who is determined to save my farm even though I’m in no danger of losing it。 When I agreed to switch lives with him, it was supposed to be for a couple of hours。

I was told to lie low, meet no one, and let him deal with the oil company that was sniffing around my property。 I agreed to the switch only because it was the first time since we’d met that my twin had shown interest in my life, and I hoped it would give us a better understanding of each other。

Hours drag into days。 I consider our initial agreement void and head to his office。 I’m sitting at his desk, mostly minding my own business, when a beautiful woman blusters in, ready for a confrontation with my brother about an email。 She’s the daughter of my brother’s largest client。

I only flirt with her to make her smile。 What could it hurt to pretend to be my brother just a little longer?

I didn’t expect to uncover a plan to sabotage my brother’s company。 I don’t want to believe that the woman I can’t get out of my thoughts and would love to get into my bed has anything to do with what I’ve discovered。

Save the company。

Save the girl。

I have no idea how I’ll do either, but when something is done out of love, it has to work out。

Where to begin。 I did enjoy this book。 Mostly。 I did find some of it unbelievable, but I tried to not over think it and must enjoy the read。 I do kind of wish I had know this was the second book in the series。 I would have likely read Jessie’s story first before moving on to Scott’s。 That being said, I did feel the book was ok as a stand alone。 The only thing I didn’t really understand was what the circumstances were that led to Jessie and Scott finding out about each other。 This story starts af Where to begin。 I did enjoy this book。 Mostly。 I did find some of it unbelievable, but I tried to not over think it and must enjoy the read。 I do kind of wish I had know this was the second book in the series。 I would have likely read Jessie’s story first before moving on to Scott’s。 That being said, I did feel the book was ok as a stand alone。 The only thing I didn’t really understand was what the circumstances were that led to Jessie and Scott finding out about each other。 This story starts after Jessie and Scott have already met and switched places。 While pretending to be Jessie, Scott meets Monica。 Perhaps it is because I’ve never personally experienced love at first sight, but I felt that they fell for each other unbelievably fast。 Their entire relationship was just so fast! I also don’t quite believe how Scott was able to teach himself so much highly scientific stuff online。 People pay lots of good money for an education like he managed to learn on his own (Monica included!)。 I did enjoy the characters though。 There was some humour throughout the book that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I loved that pig (Bella ❤️。 Do some types of pigs actually get that big??)。 I might hunt down the first book and read Jessie’s story, though I might not since I already know how it all ends。 It does look like they set us up for a third book (Thane also has a mysterious unknown twin?? Will we finally solve all the problems around these magical world saving beans?) though and I will most likely read that one。 Thank you NetGalley, Montlake and Ruth Cardello for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

I loved this book。 It’s book 2 and easy to follow, love how it flows with the first book。 Scott is still pretending to be his newly found twin (Jesse)。 He’s not supposed to go out, but he does and meets Monica。 But how to tell her who he is? He doesn’t like secrets between them。 I had some tears at one point, will she give him a chance? Was surprised by her relationship with her Dad, can they overcome a situation? This story was just as good as the first。 This was more about Scott pretending to be Jessie and getting to know Monica。 She took his deception as well as can be expected。 I loved how she took to farm life。 The way she had been raised after her mother died - it just brought her peace。 And who could not love Bella? A 1000 lb pig that wants to live in a house is a challenge, but they made it work。 The work at Jesse's firm and on Scott's secret lab was part of the story that brought everyone togethe This story was just as good as the first。 This was more about Scott pretending to be Jessie and getting to know Monica。 She took his deception as well as can be expected。 I loved how she took to farm life。 The way she had been raised after her mother died - it just brought her peace。 And who could not love Bella? This is the second book in The Switch series。 I read the first one and enjoyed it very much and this one also did not disappoint。 If you haven't read the first one, I would highly recommend reading that first, to get the full effect of the story。 The story was unique and fun with a well-written plot that caught my attention from the beginning and kept my interest till the end。 After reading Jesse's story in book 1, I was looking forward to reading more about Scott and Monica。 When Scott and Jess This is the second book in The Switch series。 I read the first one and enjoyed it very much and this one also did not disappoint。 If you haven't read the first one, I would highly recommend reading that first, to get the full effect of the story。 The story was unique and fun with a well-written plot that caught my attention from the beginning and kept my interest till the end。 After reading Jesse's story in book 1, I was looking forward to reading more about Scott and Monica。 When Scott and Jesse switch places, it was only meant to be for a couple of hours。 Well, it didn't quite work out that way and we get to see how family really comes through for each other。 Scott and Monica were really great together。 I liked how sweet and patient he was with Monica, who was so guarded and such a workaholic。 I liked watching their relationship grow as they faced their issues。 It was also nice to see the brothers become closer as well。 A very entertaining and enjoyable story - I hope to read more by this author in the future!I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review。 。。。more

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, mostly because of the characters。 I adore Scott’s character and Monica, the other half of the romance was well characterized and likable。 The overall arc seemed a little unbelievable- somehow all of these well to do people are all connected in some way and able to benefit from the beans that Scott has created (the first book in the series did most of the set up to the arc)。 But it is worth it to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the story! I waited a long time after reading this book to do the review。 I kind of liked the book。 I kind of couldn't believe the premise。 Not of the twins switching places, but of the other people they drew into their untruth。 I read the first book and kind of felt the same way about it。 Twin brothers raised apart, find each other and want to help each other out。 Jesse got his HEA in the first book in the series。 This book is about Scott, the brother who is a farmer。 Jesse, the brother who is the CEO of I waited a long time after reading this book to do the review。 I kind of liked the book。 I kind of couldn't believe the premise。 Not of the twins switching places, but of the other people they drew into their untruth。 I read the first book and kind of felt the same way about it。 Twin brothers raised apart, find each other and want to help each other out。 Jesse got his HEA in the first book in the series。 This book is about Scott, the brother who is a farmer。 Jesse, the brother who is the CEO of a very large corporation changes places with Scott, for just a few hours。 Well that doesn't happen and if you want more about Jesse, read the first book in the series。Relationships that begin with a lie, albeit one to help someone out, don't end well。。。except in this book, so I chose to suspend belief and just go with the story。 In that context, the story was a good one with lots of talking out their feelings and finally, what is going on。 Monica and Scott are great for each other。My favorite part was the ending where there might be ANOTHER set of twins to read about。。。at least that was eluded to! Not suggested as I haven’t read it, but if you wanted to know Jesse’s story, make sure you read book 1。 It’s based at the exact same time as this one is happening because they are identical twin brothers (separated at birth) who switch lives。In book two we meet Scott, a farmer, who switches places with his highly successful business brother, Jesse。Scott promises not to leave Jesse’s apartment, whoops。 He’s now sat in Jesse’s office flirting with one of his brothers clients! Book 2 in The Switch, and I loved it just as much as the first book。 This time we have the story from Jesse’s twin Scott, who’s temporarily left his farm for the lights of the big city, with strict instructions to not to leave his brother’s apartment。 Of course he doesn’t listen, and herein starts his story, as daughter to Jesse’s billionaire business associate, Monica Bellerwood, storms Jesse’s office ready for a confrontation, and comes face to face with…。Scott, and he’s not the cut-throat bus Book 2 in The Switch, and I loved it just as much as the first book。 This time we have the story from Jesse’s twin Scott, who’s temporarily left his farm for the lights of the big city, with strict instructions to not to leave his brother’s apartment。 Of course he doesn’t listen, and herein starts his story, as daughter to Jesse’s billionaire business associate, Monica Bellerwood, storms Jesse’s office ready for a confrontation, and comes face to face with…。Scott, and he’s not the cut-throat businessman she was expecting (of course he’s not, he’s sweet, gentle and funny)。 Together they investigate and uncover some dirty dealings, all while finding themselves, and their place in their respective families。 Lots of flirty times, happy times, emotional times and super sexy times, in this sweet, addictive, funny and highly enjoyable read。 I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author。 I received an advanced copy of this book。from NetGalley。 This is my honest review。 。。。more

The best type of romance book is one that is so far fetched that you almost wish it was real。 This definitely fits the bill, A brilliant romantic comedy, I loved Scott and Monica's story and was sad to finish this book。 The best type of romance book is one that is so far fetched that you almost wish it was real。 This definitely fits the bill, A brilliant romantic comedy, I loved Scott and Monica's story and was sad to finish this book。 。。。more

Out of Love is the second book in the Switch series。 It follows the life of Scott, twin to Jessie in book 1。 As the Series title suggests, they switch places and as they’re identical twins, only those closest to them realise。 As always, Ruth Cardello creates likeable but flawed characters who really should know better than to not tell the women they fall for their secret。 Of course it comes back to bite them in the arse and of course they ultimately make up and fall in love。 And this is why I re Out of Love is the second book in the Switch series。 It follows the life of Scott, twin to Jessie in book 1。 As the Series title suggests, they switch places and as they’re identical twins, only those closest to them realise。 As always, Ruth Cardello creates likeable but flawed characters who really should know better than to not tell the women they fall for their secret。 Of course it comes back to bite them in the arse and of course they ultimately make up and fall in love。 And this is why I read every one of her books! Complete escapism into the fictional lives of billionaires and their families, alpha males and strong female characters who don’t let them get away with their behaviour for long。 Happy endings, plenty of saucy sex scenes and a great story along the way。 I can’t wait for book 3 and the on-running plot about twins and the adoption agency that is starting to be woven through the storyline。 Don’t forget to read book 1 and then maybe all of her other titles too! 。。。more
